We got to go out on some pretty fun dates in Nashville. We went to see lots of shows considering the stage of life-- Wilco and Sufjan Stevens (both at the Ryman), Neutral Milk Hotel, Damien Jurado, The New Pornographers, The Mountain Goats, Phosphorescent, Yo La Tengo, Lambchop, and probably more that are slipping my mind now. At the end of the Yo La Tengo show (close to midnight), we bumped into Sam, Charli and Benjamin's preschool/kindergarten teacher, and Drew said, "only in Nashville..."

We also went to more fun restaurants that I could count. Let's be honest, finding good food in Nashville (especially on the Eastside) pretty much involves pulling up to any restaurant and walking in. Still, we had many favorites, and the kids did too. We frequented Rosepepper with the kids for their $1 kids quesadillas and $5 margaritas, and our love for Rosepepper earned Rosi a nickname that so far has stuck. The kids also learned to eat hamburgers at The Pharmacy, so the first time they tried fast food burgers they threw them on the floorboard of the car yelling, "WHAT is THIS?" and "You said we could have CHEESEBURGERS! These aren't cheeseburgers!"

Some of our favorite restaurants for nights out without the kids were Lockeland Table, Little Octopus, and Rolf and Daughters on a special occasion.
